Encouraging the protection of, and restoration of, unique building and urban design by

• evaluating the impact of change on vernacular buildings and the urban significance of the site;
• considering the impact of design decisions and materials selection on buildings beyond the boundaries of the site;
• recommending against building in areas where development is likely to have significant negative impact on the built environment;
• maintaining and enhancing architecture which enshrines stories, memories, and a sense of place.
