Commitment: Our office has been committed to sustainable design and construction practices from the early 1990s. We are members of the New Zealand Green Building Council.

Research: This commitment has been demonstrated in his past research (including a PhD), international publications and lectures on sustainable architecture and environmental design.

Teaching: Peter’s university teaching included the establishment/teaching of courses in design for sustainability, and energy-efficient commercial design in conjunction with the late Graeme Robertson.

Design Studios: Peter Diprose and Robert Hotten have both taught international award winning green design studios at the university of Auckland. Peter has also taught courses in green design at Masters Level at the Universisty of Auckland, working along side Robert Vale.

Environmental Policy: Peter authored the NZIA environmental policy as past chair of the NZIA Environmental Task Group;

Awards: A range of national and international prizes and awards in recognition of sustainable architecture (these are noted elsewhere).

Green Assessment:  Our office follows latest NZ Standards and NZ Building Code, and surpasses these by using environmental approved assessment tools and methodologies. In the past we have used the National Australian Building Environmental Rating  System (NABERS) to assess and meet sustainable design standards and practice. Now that the New Zealand Green Building Council has developed several local environmental assessment tools, we have the luxury of switching to Green Star assessment.
